Formats

We are in a position to accept, process, print and/or export texts and documents in most commonly used standard formats, such as, for instance, HTML, PDF, plain text encoded in Ansi Extended ASCII or Unicode, RTF, and, of course, those of the best known word processors. The transmission of files in proprietary and unsecure (see macroviruses) formats is however subject to prior arrangements with the intended recipient.

Texts provided on paper or transmitted by fax can also be acquired by SLS’s members for further processing by passing their scanned images through omnifont OCR (optical character recognition) software. With regard to faxes, however, we suggest that, in order to facilitate such work, you forward them to our fax server rather than to our fax machines, so that the problems arising from the inherent lack of resolution of faxes are not worsened by their acquisition through a scanner.

The Firm is similarly in a position to import, access and export other types of data, such as databases, bitmaps, vector graphics, spreadsheet tables, in the formats accepted by ordinary commercially available software. Multimedia contents are also accepted in most formats, including Wave and MIDI audio, MPEG audio and video, FLI and FLC animations.

Data and documents can be delivered to the Firm, at the sender’s option, either on supported removable media or by a point-to-point digital transmission – in both cases possibly after the adoption of the appropriate security measures. If the transmission need not be in real time and can be off-line, it may be more practical to utilise an e-mail message or attachment.
